Multi-Select Menus
Multi-Select menus and limit-by controls were
All multi-select menu items in this application allow the shortcut keys CTRL + A to add multiple items using a targeted text search. The shortcut key CTRL + A will add search results currently displayed in the popup with a limit of 30 items per search instance. The number of items limited within view is 30 per search, this means if the number of actual items in the query is 45, then the first search returns 30, the next search returns 15 more items for a total of 45 items in view.
It is important to note, CTRL + A will not add all items in the database in one instance when the number of items returned exceeds 30 items. To return the remaining items, repeat the search steps, press CTRL + A again, and so on. For example...
- Type the desired text in the search box to return matching items, or type the percent sign to return all items.
- Suppose the word nurse is typed in the menu search box, doing so returns every instance where the word pattern of nurse exists within the corresponding query. Press Ctrl + A to select all of the items returned in the query.
For example, suppose the number of items that contain the word nurse is 45 which exceeds the 30-item limit. The query returns the first 30 out of 45 items. To select the 30 items, press CTRL + A. Then, go to the menu search box and type the word nurse again to return the remaining items. In this case 15 more items with the word nurse return, press CTRL + A again to select the remaining 15 items for a total of 45 items displayed, added, and selected.
