Request Time-Off via InTouch

Prerequisites:

  • InTouch Clock Integration License, and Setup
  • Review Help topic: Setup Device Manager (InTouch Clock).

Smart Views are configured by your organizations. The buttons on the clock are soft keys that can vary in naming conventions. For example, a clock button may read, Add Time Off, Add Work Code, Request Time-Off. This task will use the Add Time Off button as an example.

To request time-off using the InTouch device:

  1. Click Add Time-Off
  2. Swipe, or type your Badge ID to access the Smart View.
  3. Click the desired date, or date range.

Selecting a range of dates where a mix of working and non-working days exist will not add a time-off code on a non-working day when submitting the request.

  4. Select a work code. The list is user specific. Only authorized work codes appear.1
  5. The Start time defaults to your shift assignment. You can change the start time if desired. Choices are:
    • Start time will default to your shift assignment when you have selected a single date, or the dates in range are the same Shift. Otherwise, the Shift start time will be blank and you will need to provide the shift time. Dynamic, and static issues display if varying shift times exist. If you have permission to override the issue, then the work code will be added.

    • Use the Start, and Duration field to indicate partial time-off.

    • If taking the entire time-off is desired when two or more adjoining assignments or shifts exist, then the application will select one of the adjoining shifts. To take the entire time off, use the Start time field to indicate the start of the shift you want to take off, and use the Duration field to indicate the entire duration of the multiple shifts combined.

  6. Duration defaults to your shift assignment. You can change the duration if partial time-off is desired.
  7. If a Detail Code, an Account Code, or a Note is required the system will prompt you to enter the information.
  8. Review the summary of details. Click Check for Issues, or click Go Back to return to the previous menu options. Choices are:
    • When no issues exist, click Submit to complete the transaction.

    • When issues exist, and you have the authority to override that issue’s severity level the application will allow it - click Override Issues. An asterisk next to an issue preventing you from overriding that issue indicates insufficient authority to bypass the issue. The application will only allow you to override the issues you have the authority to override.

    • If issues exist, and Submitis clicked rather than Override Issues, then only the work code (time-off) requests with no issues are processed.
